We are omnivores - carnivorous, chocolate-loving, bacon-hoarding, wineauxs, beer geeks, curd nerds and vegetarians - and Datz is our playground. A locally-flavored American restaurant and market dishing up regional comfort food favorites generously paired with craft beer, boutique wine and top-shelf spirits. Served with ample sides of friendliness in a spirited, ever-evolving environment. After all, we believe "ordinary" belongs in the dictionary, not in a restaurant. Especially ours. Plus... online ordering and fresh baked goods!

Q:
How do I reserve a table?
A:
Telephone leads to voicemail. The website leads to yelp. Yelp leads back to restaurant site, and the cycle repeats itself with no understandable way to make the reservation.

A great time!
The menu is huge with something for everyone, even if they like plain meals.
Service was great and friendly!
The entire place is very accessible as long as you avoid being seated upstairs
Minimal parking and it gets busy so I noticed lots parked farther away and walked
Food was GREAT!
The money bread is great to share
Lots of cocktails, drinks and fun options
It would be a great boozy brunch spot, brunch with family, girls brunch or date spot !
Overall, very affordable!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0Business owner information

4+ I only came here once kind of late in the morning. I sat at the bar, and the place didn't seem too busy at that time. I didn't get a chance to look through the entire place, but I think this place is pretty huge if I can remember correctly. I wanted something sort of southern and substantial because I was about to head over to one of the largest beer festivals in Tampa or possibly anywhere (Hunahpu's Day). This place was recommended by one of my friends that lived in the greater Tampa area and it did not disappoint.
I ordered the chicken and waffle benedict with cheesy grits. It definitely checked that box for being something southern. I thought it was all delicious. I was tempted to get a drink, but I opted for a coffee instead since I was going to the festival where I probably would be drinking all day.
This really hit the spot and definitely would come back for other meals. In the pictures, it looks like this place could get pretty lively.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

Love feeling the South Tampa vibe! We're celebrating the beginning of taco week. The Mexican fried cheese added to the tacos was the "icing on the cake." It included: eggs, bacon, guac, salsa and Cotija cheese. Our waitress checked in on us regularly and was a sweetheart. Since we're close to MacDill, lots of uniformed soldiers enjoying breakfast/lunch.
Suggestion for new breakfast taco would be a Florentine Eggs Benedict taco. I love saucy things.Helpful 10Thanks 1Love this 9Oh no 0Business owner information

I'm super bummed to learn Datz is closing...boooo. I just discovered this great place! I will spare you the details then so as not to tease. Great service, ambiance, and food. Prices were reasonable and location is sweet. I'm soooo sad it's closing.

Datz is my go-to brunch spot when I'm feeling like dessert for breakfast! They really know how to bring southern comfort food and flavor together. The shrimp and grits is definitely my go-to: the flavors are amazing and the texture is not your typical grittiness . It is actually creamy and melts in your mouth. The service is always on point. I have never been there for brunch at a point where they are not busy so the fact that the servers still take time to check on you regularly and make sure your drinks are always filled and you have everything you need means a lot. I don't believe they do reservations but you can check in on Yelp and put your name down if you get close to the restaurant. It's between 11 and 2 PM on the weekends they are extremely busy and it takes a while to get a table, especially with a larger party.

Every time we go to datz it's great food! This last time we went it was just for a quick lunch bite and a couple cocktails, the Cuban was delicious and the drinks were on point! Keep in mind if ordering an old fashioned they may need to do the correct ice (those who drinks them understand!) but more than made up for it and the espresso martini hit just right after! The staff are always so nice and friendly and the restaurant itself is clean and well kept! Til next time!

I read great reviews about this place online! Couldn't wait to try their big giant cheeseburger! As we walked in there was a few minute wait.
One stated we already knew what we wanted, but we were going to try a couple appetizers also. The deep fried pickles were super yummy!
Once they found out what it was my birthday they gave me. Are you really super yummy cupcake! Thanks for being so kind and having a great staff. Oh yeah, the friesbomb.com!Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0Business owner information

Came here for brunch on a Sunday at 11:30. We waited 20 minutes for a table upon joining the wait list. The server was knowledgeable on the menu and certain items that aren't offered anymore that show up on the Yelp menu like the chicken pot pie. For a hangover cure I ordered a bloody Maria with reposado tequila and the spicy salt rim went perfectly with the spicy tomato mix. It also came with bacon and celery which was unexpected and yummy with the drink. The shrimp and grits were seasoned well with a slight sweetness to the sauce and the grits were creamy without the usual grainy texture that grits usually have. The restaurant was bustling and busy with lots of groups conversing. Everyone in the group loved their choices. Would revisit to try more hot items on their large menu!
